From A Friend of Toronto Climate Campaign who went down to the Tar Sands Action in Washington D.C., USA and now going to Ottawa, Canada to Say No to The Tar Sands.
Dear family and friends,
Now that I have used up my 15 minutes of fame - from being arrested in Washington - it is time to get some more. I am planning to visit our nation's capital in a couple of weeks to protest our government's promotion of the Tar Sands and the Keystone pipeline.
This is an Ottawa Tar Sands Action that is happening on September 26th in solidarity with the Washington D.C. Tar Sands Action that happened between August 20th - September 3rd. All of this is in an effort to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline that is going from Tar Sands in Northern Alberta to the Gulf Coast in the Southern USA.
Toronto Climate Campaign is involved in a massive call from 350.org to organize events on Sept 24th Moving Planet - To Get Us Moving Beyond Fossil Fuels. Here in Toronto, we are setting up an event at Queen's Park from 12 - 6pm which the details are below.
Please join the efforts at: https://www.moving-planet.org/events/ca/toronto/739 and join the Watts Next Campaign here: https://wattsnext.ca/

Hi everyone,
As early as September, President Barack Obama will decide whether to light a fuse to the largest carbon bomb in North America. That bomb is the massive tar sands field in Alberta. And the fuse is the 1,700-mile long Keystone XL Pipeline that would transport this dirtiest of petroleum fuels all the way to Texas refineries.
